AI Processing
Convictional uses AI to index email thread content, making it available for search and research. You can control whether individual threads are included in this processing.
What AI processing does
When an email thread is included in AI processing (the default), its content is used to power:
- Search: The thread appears in semantic and text search results when you or your team search across your email.
- Research: The thread content can surface when you use research and knowledge discovery features.
What excluding a thread does
When you exclude a thread from AI processing, it is removed from all of the above. The thread will not appear in search results and will not be surfaced by research queries.
Excluding a thread does not affect normal email functionality. You can still:
- View the thread and all its messages
- Reply, forward, and compose new messages
- Archive, snooze, or delete the thread
- Assign the thread to team members
- Comment and collaborate with shared drafts
How to toggle AI processing
The thread creator can toggle AI processing using the blur icon button in the thread header bar:
- blur_on Included: The thread is currently included in AI processing. Click to exclude it.
- blur_off Excluded: The thread is currently excluded from AI processing. Click to re-include it.
Reversibility
Excluding a thread from AI processing can be reversed at any time. When you re-include a thread, its content will be re-indexed and will once again appear in search and research.
