Connecting Google Drive for Organization-wide Access

You can connect Google Drive with a service account so that everyone in your organization has access to those files. See below for connecting Google Drive for personal access only.

1. Sign-in to the Convictional application with your Google account

2. Navigate to your organization settings and scroll down to the bottom of the page

3. Enter credentials for your GCP Service Account with access to your Google Drive, and click "Save"

4. Once connected, these documents become searchable for everyone in your organization.

5. Your Google Drive is now connected!

Connecting Google Drive for Personal Access

You can connect your personal Google Drive for individualized access. This makes both your personal Google Drive and any Shared Drives you have access to available for search, but only for yourself. See above for connecting Google Drive for organization-wide access.

1. Sign-in to the Convictional application with your Google account

2. Navigate to your user profile and scroll-down to the Files section

1. Click the Connect Google Drive button and grant access with Google

2. Your personal Google Drive, and any Shared Drives you have access to, are now connected!

Searching Google Drive

Select "Google Drive" from your Sources list in Search Threads to include Google Drive documents in your search context.

Supported File Types

Convictional automatically indexes content from the following file types:

• Google Docs

• PDF

• DOCX (Word)

• PPTX (PowerPoint)

• XLSX (Excel)

• CSV

• TXT

• MD (Markdown)

• JSON

Supported Drives

Anything your account (personal or service) can access via Google Drive will be indexed, including files from Shared Drives the account can access.
